Software / Hardware Engineer, Fairfax City, Virginia


VECTARE is looking for a software developer with a hardware background interested in applying their skills, knowledge, and abilities in a dynamic and unique engineering organization. Duties will include both hardware and software design in support of multiple Smart Grid/Smart Home initiatives underway at VECTARE.

Position Requirements

  1. Minimum BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  2. 2+ years’ work experience in electrical engineering or software development
  3. Experience with Unix, Java, and C. Working knowledge of Tiny OS is a plus
  4. Excellent written and oral communication skills
  5. U.S Citizen

Duties Include

  1. Designing and developing software and hardware with an emphasis on embedded applications
  2. Support field deployments and field testing as required
  3. Providing other engineering support to the VP of Engineering
  4. Travel as required, approximately 4 weeks/year
